Türkiye slipped to two early defeats, 0-2 against Australia and 0-1 to Paraguay, and their hopes were gone before the final matchday. Ay-Yıldızlılar signed off in style, though, beating the United States 3-2 in a thriller with their exit already confirmed. Three goals on the last night, against a USA team ranked five places above them, gave the Crescent-Stars a send-off to remember.
