Qatar is out of the 2026 World Cup, eliminated after the group stage.
Qatar began with a creditable 1-1 draw at home to Switzerland, a side ranked 37 places above them. The rest of Group B proved harder, a 0-6 defeat to Canada and a 1-3 loss to Bosnia & Herzegovina following, and Al-Annabi went out with Switzerland, Canada and Bosnia all clear on points. Even so, holding higher-ranked Switzerland on the opening day and finding the net against Bosnia gave the Maroons moments to take home.
