Brazil is out of the 2026 World Cup, eliminated after the Round of 16 (1/8 finals).
Brazil opened Group C with a 1-1 draw against Morocco, 1 place lower in the world ranking, a result that kept things tight before a 3-0 win over Haiti settled the nerves on matchday 2. A further 3-0 win over Scotland, 36 places lower in the world ranking, followed on matchday 3. Seven points and a goal difference of 6 were enough to top the group and send Brazil into the knockout rounds.
Brazil looked comfortable in the Round of 32, beating Japan 2-1, but their tournament ended in a major upset in the last 16. Norway, ranked 25 places lower in the world, won 2-1 to send the five-time champions home before the quarter-finals.
